We are pleased to announce that all charges against our client, Mr. Alexander Vinnik, have been fully dismissed. Pursuant to the formal judgment of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California dated February 14, 2025, the criminal case has been dismissed and our client has been released from custody. As of today, Mr. Vinnik is considered a person with no criminal record, as confirmed by United States court documents.
This decision was the result of years of hard work by our legal team, as well as a consistent legal fight for justice. Of particular note, our law office also filed a petition to lift the secrecy on the case file. The judge granted our petition, and now all documents, including the order to dismiss the case and release our client, are public.
The dismissal of all charges and the complete absence of a criminal record is of great practical importance to our client. In the European Union, Asia, North and South America, including Mexico, the United States and other countries, criminal records often result in denial of entry, visas, international licenses and other permits. Mr. Vinnik is now free of such restrictions, opening the door for him to travel and do business around the world.
We are proud to note that this case can be called unique: a person extradited to the United States of America spent years in detention, but managed to return home with a completely clean reputation, without any criminal record. Such a decision is an extremely rare precedent, which we regard as our common victory, achieved thanks to the high professionalism, integrity and persistence in protecting our client’s rights.
We congratulate Mr. Vinnik on this most important achievement and wish him continued prosperity. Our law office remains committed to protecting the rights of our clients in both domestic and international jurisdictions and is ready to assist in the most complex legal situations around the world.
