Vinnik, released in the U.S., flew to Turkey

Alexander Vinnik, who was released in the United States, will soon arrive in Russia.
According to Vinnik’s lawyer Arkady Bukh, the Russian arrived in Turkey by plane. In the coming hours, he will arrive in Russia on another flight.

In addition, the lawyer said that the U.S. court decided to classify the materials of Vinnik’s case. In this regard, the lawyers can not disclose their content.

Recall, earlier this week Russia released the American Mark Fogel, convicted of drug smuggling. The United States also agreed to send Vinnik to Russia.

Alexander Vinnik was detained in July 2017 on vacation in Greece. Later, the Russian was extradited to the United States, where he was accused of laundering several billion dollars through the crypto exchange BTC-E. Vinnik spent several years in US prisons and pleaded guilty in 2024 as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.
