Vinnik’s lawyer told about the arrival of the plane with the Russian in Moscow

The airplane, on board of which is the released Russian Alexander Vinnik, has arrived in Moscow. This was reported to “Izvestia” on February 13 by his lawyer Arkady Bukh.

According to Flightradar, the flight from Turkey is still in the air on the approach to Moscow.

Earlier in the day, Izvestia was informed by Arkady Bukh Law Firm that Russian Alexander Vinnik arrived by plane in Turkey, from where he was sent on another flight to Russia. It was reported that his arrival at the Moscow airport is expected in the next few hours.

Also that day, Vinnik’s lawyer Arkady Bukh reported that his client could be in the transit zone, all his movements and routes are classified. He added, this is a standard practice aimed at preventing any risks to the life and safety of both prisoners and law enforcement officers.

On February 12, lawyer Frederic Belo told Izvestia that Vinnik was released from prison, his case was closed in the United States.

The Russian was detained at the request of the United States in July 2017, when he was vacationing with his family in Greece. U.S. authorities accused Vinnik of laundering between $4 billion and $9 billion through the BTC-e cryptocurrency exchange (now defunct) and of distributing malware for extortion. Extradition has also been requested by Russia and France. In Russia, he is accused of embezzlement of over 600 thousand rubles and fraud to the tune of 750 million rubles.
